Posterior C1–C2 Fusion by Transarticular Screw( up to 2007, 118 cases), Posterior C1–C2 Fusion with lateral mass plates( up to 2007, 378 cases), and Transoral Anterior Atlantoaxial Joint Release and Reduction( up to 2007, 276 cases). The procedures are less technically demanding,less complications, and saves surgical time. He is an editor of Chinese Journal of surgery, Chinese Journal of Spine and Spinal Cord, and corresponding editor of Chinese journal of Orthopaedics.
Accomplishment:
1. Introduced the new theory: The bone ectomy is not fitful for irreducible atlantoaxial dislocation, and the optimal method is transoral release and posterior fusion in one stage. According to the theory, bone ectomy and fixation should be abandoned, and reduction of deformity diorthosis should be taken, with more efficacy and safety.
2. Devised 3 procedures: Anterior Transart icular Screw Fixat ion Through C2 Vertebral Body; Posterior C1–C2 Fusion by Transarticular Screw (TAS) with Morselized Autograft and without Additional Internal Fixation; Transoral Anterior Atlantoaxial Joint Release and Reduction.
3. Ameliorated 2 procedures: Posterior C1–C2 Fusion with lateral mass plates; Occipitocervical fixation with C2 pedicle screws.
4. Designed two series of implants and got 2 national patents: C1-2 lateral mass plates and screws; C0-2 plates and screws. All the implants are manufactured in domestic, so it is inexpensive and can benefit the poor.
5. Published series of papers on upper cervical diseases in domestic, and had 2 papers on SPINE, the international peer-reviewed journal.
