Zhongjun Liu, male, was born on 18 Feb. 1958 in Beijing. He was graduated from Beijing Medical Collage (now is known as Peking University Medical and Health Science Center). Dec.1982 – Aug.1987 he was trained as resident and chief resident in Peking University Third Hospital and then has been worked in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in the same hospital. From 1987 to 1997, he was appointed as attending surgeon, Associated Professor and Professor successively. Since 1999, he has being in the position of Chairman of the Orthopaedic Department surgery and the Research Center, Spinal Surgery division. From 1988 to 1996, he has been trained in the U.S., the U.K. and Canada, as research and clinical fellow or visited as a visiting spinal surgeon for totally 30 months. Up to now he has published about 40 papers in national academic journals and involved in the writing or translation of twelve orthopaedic books. He has applied and obtained over 4 million Chinese yen as research grants and finished 6 research subjects in spinal surgery field in past 5 years. There were as many as 17 medical graduated students for master or doctor degree has been under his supervising and certificated. He is also an academic society worker. At present he is working as committee member or editorial member for several Chinese Orthopaedic Academic Organizations or journals.
　　Dr. Liu has devote himself to clinical treatment and research of spinal disorders, especially in spinal tumor, trauma, degenerative and deformity area. He has take the lead in adopting total spondylectomy technique dealing with spinal tumors treatment in recent years, as well as in using anterior cervical and thorac-lumbar internal fixation technique for treating spinal diseases in China in 1990’s. During past years he has won a lot of academic awards for his excellent professional works, include top-grade prize for best presentation of The Third Academic Exchange Congress of Chinese young orthopaedic surgeon in 2001 and top-grade prize for best presentation of The First Academic Exchange Meeting of Study Abroad Chinese Orthopaedic Surgeons in 2004. In 2007 his department obtain the honor of innovating team from China State Education Ministry.. He has also took part in a series research subject of cervical spondylosis which was reworded as second prize of Chinese State Science and Technology Developing award.
